From June 2 to 27, you will be able to choose between three attractive organic meals every day at Mensa Steinstraße. The Mensa team is developing a special menu for this, which will include regional suppliers and seasonal aspects wherever possible.
In order to compensate for the higher prices of the organic food used, the otherwise applicable meal prices will be adjusted for the duration of the test weeks.
 
Mensa prices only from June 2-27, 2025:

• Meal 1: 3.50 euros students / 5.50 euros staff / 8.80 euros guests
• Meal 2: 4.40 euros students / 6.40 euros staff / 9.70 euros guests
• Meal 3: 6.20 euros for students / 8.20 euros for staff / 11.50 euros for guests

 
The test weeks are part of the “90 percent organic Mensa” feasibility study jointly developed by the Faculty of Organic Agricultural Sciences and Studierendenwerk Kassel.
This was preceded by a guest survey in February 2025, in which 353 people took part.
 
The aim of the test weeks is to test guest acceptance, ordering and delivery costs, product availability, operational processes, recipe suitability and cost-effectiveness and to evaluate the results afterwards.
 
The lunch offerings in the Nordbahnhofstraße cafeteria and the other cafeteria offerings are not part of the campaign. Non-organic food is also used here, so the prices remain unchanged.
