Who is allowed to live in a student hall of the Studierendenwerk Kassel?
Only students of the University of Kassel are permitted to live in our student halls. Visiting academics have the opportunity to stay in the International House – guest house of the University of Kassel.
I have not yet been accepted at the University of Kassel, can I still apply for accommodation?
Yes, absolutely. Due to the high demand, you should apply for accommodation as soon as possible – ideally as soon as you intend to study in Kassel or Witzenhausen. The application is without obligation. As soon as you have applied, you will be added to the application list for a place in a student hall. You will then need to submit your certificate of enrolment later by e-mail to stud.wohnen((at))studierendenwerk.uni-kassel.de
How long do I have to wait for a room in a student hall?
The waiting time depends, among other things, on your preferences and can take several months. For example, the fewer student halls and types of accommodation (single apartment, shared room, etc.) you select, the longer it may take before we can offer you a room.
How do I apply for a room in a student hall?
You need to submit an online application at www.studierendenwerk-kassel.de/wohnen/wohnheim-antrag
There you will also find everything you need to know about the application and the application procedure.
